MUSEUMS
Awe, admiration, and respect are some of the intense emotions you will experience inside every Greek museum. In the heart of Athens, the National Archaeological Museum displays more than 11.000 exhibits from the whole Greek civilization. It is the largest museum in Greece and owns five permanent collections: The Collection of Prehistoric Antiquities, The Sculpture Collection, The Vase and Minerals Collection, The Metallurgical Works Collection, and the unique for Greece Collection of Egyptian and Eastern Antiquities.
Established in June 2009, the Acropolis Museum lies on the south side of Acropolis and hosts Greek masterpieces, such as the sculptures of the Parthenon. On the upper floor, the Parthenon Gallery gives a panoramic view of the Acropolis and the city of Athens.
Last but not least, a visit to the Museum of Cycladic Art is a must when it comes to Greek culture. Permanent collections with 3.000 creations of Cycladic, Ancient Greek, and Ancient Cypriot art adorn the inside of the building, while a translucent canopied garden, the Cycladic Cafe, awaits the visitors for a delightful meal.
